A totally clean and untouched canvas, pain grillé is the perfect vessel to create upon. Whether it’s slathered with sweet home-made jams and creamy butter, or stacked high with thick slab bacon, juicy tomatoes and ripe avocados – anything goes on a hearty piece of grilled bread.

We also love ours in the Catalan style of the Costa Brava in Spain  – rubbed with large fragrant cloves of garlic and fresh, ripe tomatoes  – drizzled with excellent olive oil and sprinkled with sea salt. Pan con Tomate is perfect to eat any time of day and transports us back to Spain in the very first bite.
